Away from school of course, the kids had quite a different experience. There was no TV or video, and the kids of the early Murrin Bridge era made use of their surrounds to entertain themselves — their favourite pastimes would include playing rounders, swimming, horse riding, hunting for rabbits/kangaroos/emus etc, fishing, playing doctors & nurses, dare I say it mummies & daddies, hop-scotch, hide & seek, red-rover come over, what's the time Mister Wolf, making rollers, cowboys & indians, and so on.

Visiting Murrin Bridge

LOCATION | ACCOMMODATION | LINKS

You are most welcome to visit us at Murrin Bridge and to enjoy the fruits of our labour, but please remember that our cellar-door facilities are still faitly basic. We're working hard to improve that and would appreciate a quick call or email to let us know you're coming. Phone us on (02) 6898 2264 or email murrinbridgewines@bigpond.com.

LOCATION

Murrin Bridge is about 10 kilometres north of Lake Cargelligo, which is about a five-to-six-hour drive due west of Sydney. The most direct route from Sydney is across the Blue Mountains and through Bathurst, Orange, Parkes and Condoblin, those in southern suburbs may well prefer to head down the Hume Freeway, turn off just after Yass and head west through Harden, Temora and West Wyalong.

From Melbourne, head through Bendigo and Echuca, then on to Deniliquin, Hay and Rankins Springs; or through Shepparton, Tocumwal, Griffith and Rankins Springs.
