Murrin Bridge wines fit face for kings

The NSW Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Milton Orkopoulos (pictured below) today announced that wines from Australia’s first Aboriginal vineyard, Murrin Bridge winery near Lake Cargelligo, will be served to world leaders, royalty, ambassadors and dignitaries being hosted in the NSW Parliament.

“I am delighted to announce that at an official wine tasting competition held in NSW Parliament last night, Murrin Bridge wines were selected as premium wines suitable for serving to international guests,” said Mr Okopoulos.

“The 2003 Murrin Bridge chardonnay will showcase this local winery to the world – it’s only last week that NSW hosted King Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden.

“This acknowledgement of excellence in winemaking is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of the owners and staff at Australia’s first aboriginal winery."
